Bagwat geeta chapter 18 sloka 66

Introduction to Bhagwat  Geeta Chapter 18 Sloka 66

Geeta Chapter 18

We are all familiar that Bhagwat Geeta is a dialogue between Arjun and Lord Sri Krishna. In chapter 1 Sri Arjun expresses his doubts about wisdom to fight a war between Kaurvas and Pandava’s of same Parivar and thus killing thousads of persons on either side for simple piece of land and asks guidance from lord Krishna who is his friend, relation and guide. From chater 3 to 17 Lord Krishna dispels his many doubts by stating befiits of karma yoga,Jnan yoga and after giving His Darshan to Arjun, the Lord Sri Krishna explains about Bhakti yoga in capter 12. but before ageeing to advice of Sri Krishna he asks what is sanyas and what is Tyag ( renunciation ). Krishna deleberates on this and tells there are some actions like yajna, Tap ,Dan ,etc which are are of three types ,of them those which are Satvic in nature should not be abondend. So he says the affirmation of learned men that in Sanyas all actions are to be abondend is not correct nor it is true that in Tyag it is only limited to abanden th fruits of all actions. Then he gives his authoritative opinion, In tyag one should always perform satvic actions and kartavya karma’s without attachment and which are mamta rahit and abondon all other actions This is real Tyag. In the cosidered opinion of Sri Krishna a person persuing the path of sankhya yoga i.e path of knoledge, but side by side doing all Swabhavic Actions without attachment and which are mamta rahit is a sanyasi who even after doing all actions does not feel himself to be doer of any actions i,e that who has no ahinkar that he is doing actions and sees that the three guna’s of nature by interacting between themselves are the real doer of action , is a true Sanyasi.

Reliqueshing all religons i,e surrendering all dutyfull actions unto me,you Arjun come and surrender into me, he who is Omnipotent and base of all and who is all mighty God himself, I shall absolve all your sins, therefore you should not grieve. So with reference to chapter 1. ,Lord Krishna says that instead of grieving over the consequences of war etc, you should have full faith in me and then totally surrender to me ie you leave every thing to me and donot think yourself doer of any actions you perform, and faithfully and without any attachment and being mamta rahit , think that these are being done by my nature , and also not thinking or expecting any results for your actions and leaving every thing to me,I assure you that all your sins shall be absolved.and I wil take care of you and then merge you with me. So in short it is not necessary to think of pros and cons of your actions ,when once you have totally surrendered to me, the all mighty God . To end I feel the followong 1.Faith in God and detachement and being mamta rahit from wordly things 2Absence of Ahankar as doer 3.Relinquishing all desires from fruit of actions shall mean, total surrender to God wich will lead to realisation of self and God and ultimately mergar with God.in this world( Jeevan Mukti ) and Moksh there after.
